Josh Mathews was among the names backstage at Sunday’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event.
Mathews joined TNA Wrestling in 2014 as their lead play-by-play commentator, replacing Mike Tenay. He brought his experience from WWE as a color commentator and lead announcer.
In recent years, while with tNA, Mathews transitioned more into a behind-the-scenes role. His primary focus is as a senior producer and senior director of digital media.
The former TNA/WWE announcer was backstage at the March 26th episode of AEW Dynamite. Dave Meltzer reports Mathews was backstage working at the show. His wife, Madison Rayne, has worked for AEW for several years.
It’s unclear what his exact role is in AEW.
