FTR did an interview with TalkSport to promote Saturday’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event. At this show, they’ll defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks.

Obviously, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were in WWE, but left the company due to them being unhappy. While with the company, they made it known that they wanted to wrestle Nick and Matt Jackson.

Harwood recalled in this interview how they’ve been talking about doing the match for years.

“This is the match we quit a previous company to have. This is the one we wanted. Over the last five years, people have talked about it, we’ve talked about, the Bucks have talked about it and this is the culmination of both FTR’s and The Young Buck’s respective tag team legacies.”

Harwood continued by noting that it’s important to them as wrestling is an art form. He thinks their art is the most important in AEW. He admitted to wanting the build to have more focus, but he thinks maybe those in charge believe that it’s a built-in feud.

“But there are other things that I would have liked to have seen happen with the Young Bucks, but I think Saturday night, at Full Gear, you’re going to see a lot of tag teams with a lot of pride looking to build their legacy and cement their legacy as the best tag team of a generation.”

Wheeler noted that they’re obsessed with not just their legacy, but also cementing their place in history as the best tag team in the world.

“We knew we had to go out and chase this down. We had to come here and have this match. We would have loved to have a lot of different time dedicated to it, but this thing has built itself over the last six-plus years.”

Harwood added that they have chips on their shoulders and plan on highway robbery at Full Gear.

FTR also talked about winning the titles, the greatest tag team match, and more. Check out the full interview here.
