GCW is opposing AEW: Fight Forever trademark

GCW is opposing the name of AEW’s upcoming video game, AEW: Fight Forever, which is expected to be released this year.

GCW filed to oppose the trademark on March 1, although they requested a 90-day extension to oppose it formally. WrestlingInc first reported the news on Friday.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted that extension. According to documents, GCW’s opposition appeal notes the promotion is currently “engaged in settlement discussions with the applicant,” which refers to AEW.

It should be noted that GCW held a show in January 2021 titled Fight Forever, which lasted 24 hours. In 2022, GCW filed for its trademark to the name, and a few months later, AEW filed its trademark for it.

In a response to a fan regarding the situation, GCW owner Brett Lauderdale noted on Twitter that “GCW has never, and will never ask for a dollar of Tony Khan’s money.”

The video game recently got its ESRB rating after needing to scale back on the blood featured in it, as it was recently given the game a T for Teen rating.
