On a night that saw him involved in a physical altercation with his upcoming pay-per-view opponent, AEW World Champion ‘Hangman’ Adam Page also took to social media to voice his opposition to commercials for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) airing during AEW Dynamite.
Following the broadcast, Page posted on the social media platform Bluesky, encouraging his followers to contact the network about the advertisements. “f**k ice airing commercials during dynamite, let em know:” Page wrote, before providing direct links to the feedback pages for the network and its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
This is not the first instance of an AEW talent publicly expressing an anti-ICE stance. Earlier this year, Brody King wore a shirt to the ring during an episode of Dynamite that featured the message “Abolish ICE”.
Page’s social media activity came after he competed in the main event of tonight’s Dynamite in a trios match, teaming with Powerhouse Hobbs and his future opponent, Samoa Joe, against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Daniel Garcia. The match concluded when Page hit Castagnoli with a Deadeye followed by a Buckshot Lariat to secure the pinfall victory for his team.
After the match, tensions between Page and Joe escalated. When Page went to hand Joe his belt, it fell to the mat, which Joe appeared to take as a sign of disrespect. Joe spun Page around and was censored as he berated him. After security failed to separate them, Joe stated that Page had never beaten him and then struck the champion. Powerhouse Hobbs eventually convinced Joe to leave the ring, ending the confrontation.
The physical altercation further builds the animosity between the two competitors ahead of their scheduled singles match for the AEW World Championship at the upcoming WrestleDream pay-per-view.
Also announced for the WrestleDream card is an “I Quit” match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley. In women’s division action, Kris Statlander is set to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against “Timeless” Toni Storm.
AEW’s WrestleDream pay-per-view can be ordered through HBO Max and traditional cable and satellite providers.
