The new Adam Sandler film, Happy Gilmore 2, is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday, July 25th, and will feature several major stars from the worlds of both AEW and WWE. The movie sees Adam Sandler reprise his iconic role from the 1996 comedy classic.
MJF Featured In Lead Role
AEW star and former World Champion MJF has a significant role in the sequel. He will be featured in the film as Gordy, one of the lead character’s children. This marks the second major film role for MJF, who also appeared in 2023’s “The Iron Claw.”
WWE Stars To Make Cameo Appearances
In addition to MJF, two top stars from WWE will also be making appearances in the film. Current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella both have cameo roles in the highly-anticipated sequel.
The film’s release comes at a busy time for all three wrestling stars. In AEW, MJF is currently aligned with the dominant Hurt Syndicate faction. In WWE, Becky Lynch is feuding with Lyra Valkyria, while Nikki Bella recently made her in-ring return and formed a new partnership with Stephanie Vaquer.
