A new stipulation has been added to one of the matches on this week’s special “September to Remember” edition of AEW Dynamite. In a post on his social media on Monday night, AEW President Tony Khan announced that the singles match between Queen Aminata and Thekla will now be a “No Holds Barred” match.
In his announcement, Khan explained the reasoning behind the change. “#SeptemberToRemember Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite No Holds Barred @amisylle vs @toxic_thekla,” he wrote. “With the violent animosity between Queen Aminata/Thekla, it’s likely to be a chaotic brawl with little emphasis on rope breaks or rules, so I’ve made it No Holds Barred THIS WEDNESDAY!” The new stipulation is a fitting one for the company’s residency in the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, the former home of ECW.
The three-hour “September to Remember” special is the final stop on the road to this Saturday’s All Out pay-per-view in Toronto. In addition to the No Holds Barred match, the show will feature three qualifying matches to determine the final entrants in a multi-team match for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team titles at All Out. The Young Bucks will take on The Gunn Club, Luchasaurus & Kip Sabian will face JetSpeed, and Top Flight will battle the team of Josh Alexander & Hechicero.
Also on the show, in another All Out Unified title match qualifier, The Beast Mortos will face Mascara Dorada. In a pair of singles matches, Bobby Lashley will take on Toa Liona, and Jon Moxley will battle Roderick Strong. The show will also feature a face-to-face confrontation between FTR and the team of Adam Copeland & Christian Cage, a special feature on the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, and a singles match between the returning Riho and Robyn Renegade.
The “September to Remember” special will set the final stage for this weekend’s All Out pay-per-view. The event will air live this Wednesday, September 17, at 8 p.m. ET on TBS.
