Full Match Card and Storylines

  • AEW World Championship: “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. MJF
    • Storyline: After Page won the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas, his long-time rival MJF began goading him into a title match. Page eventually agreed, but only if MJF used his Casino Gauntlet contract. MJF later kidnapped Page’s friend, Mark Briscoe, and threatened to set him on fire unless Page agreed to new stipulations: the title can change hands on a count-out or disqualification, and MJF would not have to use his contract. Page was forced to agree to the terms.
  • AEW Unified Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Swerve Strickland
    • Storyline: At All In: Texas, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay defeated The Young Bucks, which resulted in The Bucks being stripped of their EVP titles. As a member of The Elite, AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada took exception to Strickland’s role in his stablemates’ downfall and a title match was made for Forbidden Door.
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Athena
    • Storyline: Athena won the Casino Gauntlet match at All In: Texas to earn a contract for a future AEW Women’s World Championship match. She chose to cash in her contract at Forbidden Door, challenging Toni Storm for the title. Athena has noted Storm’s past “bad luck” in London, where she lost the title at All In in 2024.
  • Lights Out Steel Cage Match: Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi), Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Will Ospreay vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley), The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson), and Gabe Kidd
    • Storyline: This massive 10-man tag team match is the culmination of several intertwined rivalries. Darby Allin has been feuding with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders for months. Will Ospreay also has issues with the group after they (in storyline) injured his neck. This led Ospreay to challenge the Death Riders to this unsanctioned match, recruiting NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi and the reunited Golden Lovers, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi, to his team. In response, Moxley enlisted his own allies, The Young Bucks and Gabe Kidd.
  • IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Nigel McGuinness
    • Storyline: After a 13-year absence from the ring, Nigel McGuinness returned to action at last year’s All In. He recently won a “Technical Spectacle” four-way match on AEW Collision to earn this championship opportunity against one of the world’s most acclaimed technical wrestlers, Zack Sabre Jr., in what many are calling a dream match.
  • Tag Team Match: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage vs. Killswitch and Kip Sabian
    • Storyline: At All In: Texas, Nick Wayne turned on his mentor, Christian Cage. This led to a surprise return from Adam Copeland, who saved his long-time friend and rival, Cage. After weeks of attacks from Wayne and Kip Sabian, Copeland and Cage agreed to team up for the first time since 2011. An injury to Wayne led to the return of Killswitch, who was named as his replacement in the match.
  • AEW TBS Championship Four-Way Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Alex Windsor vs. Persephone vs. Bozilla
    • Storyline: This international four-way match will see AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné defend her title against representatives from three different promotions. Alex Windsor won a qualifying match on AEW Dynamite to represent AEW, while Persephone will represent CMLL, and Bozilla will represent STARDOM.
  • AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi
    • Storyline: After winning the TNT Championship, Kyle Fletcher issued a challenge for NJPW to send their best to face him at Forbidden Door. NJPW’s five-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Hiromu Takahashi, answered the call, leading to this title match between the two international stars.
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Three-Way Match: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) (c) vs. Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)
    • Storyline: An eight-team eliminator tournament was held to determine the challengers for The Hurt Syndicate’s tag team titles. The final match between FTR and the team of Brody King and Bandido ended in a 30-minute time limit draw. As a result, it was announced that both teams would challenge for the championships in a three-way match.

Zero Hour Pre-Show Matches:

  • AEW World Trios Championship: The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) (c) vs. Bullet Club War Dogs (Drilla Moloney, Clark Connors, and Robbie X)
  • Eight-Man Tag Team Match: Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong), El Desperado, and Yuya Uemura vs. CRU (Action Andretti and Lio Rush) and The Don Callis Family (Hechicero and Josh Alexander)
  • Eight-Woman Tag Team Match: Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Thekla) and Megan Bayne vs. Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Queen Aminata, and Willow Nightingale
  • Trios Match: JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey) and Michael Oku vs. GOA (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Ricochet
