Impact Wrestling star no longer under contract, WWE and AEW are interested in signing him

WWE’s roster is already bigger than ever but they are still looking everywhere for new talent. In the case of Matt Sydal, he would be a returning talent. Many of you remember him as Evan Bourne when he worked for WWE a few years ago.

On Saturday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Sydal’s contract recently expired and there is interest from WWE and All Elite Wrestling. Considering how underutilized he was in WWE, it would seem less likely that he would want to go back there but anything’s possible especially if they make a good money offer.

“Matt Sydal’s contract with Impact ended on January 1st,” Meltzer said. “He should be ready in a couple of months. He had minor knee surgery last week. We’ll see what happens with him. He’s had offers from AEW and I know he’s had offers from WWE … I would think Impact would want him back because he’s good. That’s his situation, he’s a free agent.”

You can rule out seeing him on TV anytime soon because he is still recovering from surgery but he’s in a good spot right now with several companies offering more money to sign guys like Sydal.
