Injured AEW Star Will Be At Double Or Nothing

Wardlow is reportedly in town for AEW Double or Nothing 2026 tonight in Queens, NY, with Fightful Select learning that the three-time AEW TNT Champion is present at the event but has not been confirmed for an on-screen appearance.

The update came from Fightful Select ahead of tonight’s pay-per-view at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Wardlow has not wrestled for AEW since March 2024, with his last match being part of his original run as TNT Champion before his step away from active competition.

Wardlow has been at a number of recent AEW shows as he works toward getting cleared for in-ring return. The standard pattern for AEW wrestlers working back from injury includes regular appearances at events to maintain locker room connection without committing to in-ring work.

He returned to TV at the 2025 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event in a surprise appearance, but the return did not lead to a sustained run. Several weeks after that return, Fightful Select reported that Wardlow may have suffered a torn pectoral muscle.

In April 2026, Wardlow appeared on BCP+ and confirmed the Fightful Select reporting about the pectoral injury. He also revealed that he fully tore his left bicep ahead of the American Gladiator reboot filming on Amazon Prime, but opted to skip surgery and wore a sleeve during the show’s run to hide the discoloration on his arm. The American Gladiator reboot has been airing on Amazon Prime as part of the broader streamer-side reality competition revival programming.

The Double or Nothing 2026 card is currently set with nine announced matches across the main card, plus three Buy In matches.
