Injured AEW Star Is Getting Closer To Making In-Ring Return

It looks like AEW is about to get one injured star back in the near future.

Ortiz has been out of action for the majority of 2024 as he has been sidelined since suffering a torn pectoral muscle while teaming with Eddie Kingston against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli. The bout happened on the January 20 edition of AEW Collision.

Ortiz had been booked as a singles star following the split with Mike Santana, who has since departed from AEW and gone to TNA. His last match on Dynamite was in March 2023.

While making a cameo on the latest edition of Isiah Kassidy’s vlog, Ortiz appeared and provided an update on his in-ring status. Ortiz could be heard saying, “I’m not quite back yet, but I’m right there. I’m stronger, faster, but less flexible.”

You can check out the vlog here:

We wish him a speedy recovery.
