Injured AEW Star Is Keeping His Return A Secret

AEW star Brian Cage has provided an update on his recovery from double knee surgery, but he is keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to a potential return date. Speaking on the All F’N Wrestling Show, “The Machine” confirmed that he has “no idea” about any creative plans for his return and that there is currently no timetable for him to step back into the ring. He also added that even if he did have a target date, he wouldn’t tell anyone, as he wants his eventual return to AEW television to be a complete surprise to the fans.

Cage has been out of action since April of this year, when he underwent surgery on his injured knee. He then had a second surgery on his other knee in June, a recovery process that has kept him on the shelf for a significant portion of 2025.

“I have no idea about any sort of creative plans for our return at all at this point. So, I mean, I guess anything could be possible… There’s a whole wide open of versatility of what could happen, because there’s nothing set in stone at all for when I’m coming back or what I’m going to do when I come back,” Cage said. He then explained his desire to keep his return a secret. “I’m not telling anybody that I don’t want anybody to have an inkling. I want everybody to have no idea of, ‘Oh, maybe around this time,’ because it might be next week, next year, or I don’t know. Who knows?”

Before his injury, Brian Cage was a member of the Don Callis Family, a faction that has undergone changes in his absence, most notably with the recent addition of the returning Andrade. Cage was also in a tag team with Lance Archer, known as the Murder Machines.

Cage is a former FTW Champion in AEW and has also held the Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. We wish him a speedy recovery.
