It appears Riho is slated to make a return to in-ring action soon after being on the sidelines for three months.

According to the Midwest Marks Podcast, Riho confirmed on her members-only blog that she is healed up and will be returning to the United States soon to resume competing for All Elite Wrestling.

Her last match came in January when she challenged Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s Championship at the Battle of the Belts special on TNT. She suffered a broken collarbone early on in the match, but despite the pain, Riho finished the match and never complained about her injury.

The finish of the bout saw Baker submitting Riho with the Lockjaw to retain. Riho went back to Japan while recovering. When she was first injured, it was expected that she would be out of action for three months so the timeline is right on track.

Riho earned the title shot after beating Baker in a non-title match on the Black Friday episode of Rampage last November. Riho beat Nyla Rose to become the inaugural AEW Women’s Champion on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite in Washington, D.C., at the famed Capital One Arena in October 2019. She held the title for 133 days.
