Injured AEW Star Returning To In-Ring Action Soon

It looks like AEW will be getting back one of its stars who have been on the sidelines shortly.

El Hijo del Vikingo is that star after making a name for himself while working AEW, ROH, and AAA. Vikingo first started working for AEW last March, where he put over Kenny Omega on Dynamite before beating Dralistico on the April 2023 Rampage.

Since then, he has worked several matches, mostly on Rampage. His most recent bout was on the January 24th Rampage, where he worked a fatal four-way match for a shot at the International Title, which Komander won.

Vikingo teamed with Psycho Clown and Wotan, losing to Negocio Traumado (Demonio Infernal, Fresero Jr & Trauma I) at AULL Rencor Extremo earlier this year. This is where he suffered a torn meniscus.

Dave Meltzer noted on F4WOnline that the lucha star targets a September 27 return to in-ring action. He is being advertised for an upcoming AAA September 29 show and a three-date tour of Spain in November.

It’s unclear when he will make his AEW return.
