Injured AEW Star’s In-Ring Return Believed To Be “Not That Far In The Future”

It’s just a matter of time before AEW gets a much-needed star back after being away from in-ring action for over a year.

That star is Adam Cole, someone that AEW has been hopeful to get back sooner rather than later. Fightful had reported that wheels have already been put in motion to prepare for that on-screen. A few months ago, Cole started in-ring training and has been backstage at AEW events in recent weeks.

Cole has been out of action since suffering a broken ankle at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2023 special while running to the ring during the World Title match between MJF and Samoa Joe. He jumped off the entrance ramp to the floor at the ringside and began limping.

Cole was revealed as The Devil at Worlds End, laying out MJF after losing the World Heavyweight Title. MJF got his revenge at Double Or Nothing when he laid out his former tag team partner.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Cole’s return is believed to be not that far in the future.” No further details were given.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
