Jake Roberts not happy about the DDT becoming a normal wrestling move: ‘I think it’s a waste of a great move’

In an exclusive for WrestlingNews.co, WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts recently spoke with Steve Fall. Roberts manages Lance Archer and The Righteous and he was on AEW Collision this past Saturday.

Roberts talked about politics ruining his storylines with Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage:

“Warrior got fired (when Jake turned on him). I got the rug pulled out from underneath me there for sure. They pulled the run from me on that one too (when Jake’s cobra bit Randy Savage). It just really fu**ing frustrated me. Randy was getting too much heat at home from his in-laws. They were going fu**ing psychotic over what I did to Elizabeth so they had to kibosh the thing and get it off the air.”

On his blind storyline with Rick Martel at WrestleMania VII:

“I came up with it.” When asked how clear he could see through the cloth, Jake said “Very clear.”

On the DDT becoming a normal wrestling move:

“It doesn’t please me. I think it’s a waste of a great move, but there’s a lot of great moves that are being wasted today. You know, not just the DDT, but having said that, I hope they keep using it because every time they use it, it just brings my name back into the situation and that’s a good thing. That’s a good thing in the days of, you know, everything online, you get your name said. That’s all you need.”

On why Dean Ambrose was smiling when the Jake put the snake on him during an episode or Old School RAW in 2014:

“He’s laughing because CM Punk told him the snake sh*t on him, but he didn’t”
