When asked by Helwani how long he has been sober, Hardy replied, “Three years, two days.” Hardy has had a long and public struggle with substance abuse, leading to multiple arrests throughout his career.
His most recent arrest was in June 2022 on a felony DUI charge, for which he served jail time and completed a court-mandated program. He returned to wrestling in April 2023, and this update marks a major milestone in his recovery journey.
