While Jim Cornette’s review of AEW’s All In: Texas pay-per-view was overwhelmingly negative, he did single out one specific moment as a surprising highlight, calling it the “best part of the show so far.” On his Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru podcast, the legendary manager gave high praise to the musical performance by JoJo Offerman, which took place before the tag team match between Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay and The Young Bucks.
The performance occurred in the middle of a series of elaborate entrances that Cornette was heavily criticizing. After lambasting the video game-themed entrance for Will Ospreay, Cornette’s tone shifted when Offerman appeared on stage.
A Surprising Musical Interlude
“Actually, this was my favorite part of the show,” Cornette admitted. “Suddenly, on stage there is a singer, and she’s singing Chaka Khan… it’s a young lady… her name is JoJo Offerman. I’m like, ‘Well, okay, I haven’t heard of her, but I haven’t heard of any of these f—ing musicians.'”
Cornette was impressed with the quality of the performance. “She sang, ‘Ain’t Nobody’… and she sang it. And then the song was over, and she got nice applause. Did a great job,” he stated. He noted that it was a standalone musical segment, not a live performance of Swerve Strickland’s theme music. “It was like a little musical vignette in between. So again, best part of the show so far.”
A Moment of Praise Amidst Scathing Criticism
The praise for Offerman’s performance stood in stark contrast to Cornette’s review of the rest of the segment. He went on to ridicule The Young Bucks’ entrance, where they crossed the arena in a boat suspended from the ceiling, and described the 27-minute match that followed as a “stunt show” where the “fans were dead.” The fact that Offerman’s brief musical performance earned such a positive reaction from the famously critical podcaster made the compliment all the more significant.
JoJo Offerman, the former JoJo in WWE, worked for the company from 2013 to 2021, primarily as a ring announcer and backstage interviewer for the NXT and Raw brands. She is also known for her powerful singing voice, having performed the national anthem at numerous WWE events. She was the wife of the late Windham Rotunda, famously known as Bray Wyatt, and the two had two children together. Her appearance at All In: Texas marked a rare return to the wrestling world for a special performance.
