Jim Ross may be taking a hiatus from AEW as he deals with his health issues.
The WWE Hall Of Famer underwent surgery this week and he is set to go through 22 consecutive days of radiation treatment to remove the skin cancer on his body.
Everything appears to be touch and go and while Ross did not outright say that he would be off AEW shows for a while, the way he signed off last night made it sound like he is not sure and he might not be on the show next week or the week after.
Dave Meltzer discussed Ross’ situation on Wrestling Observer Radio and he specifically mentioned Ross’ sign off last night at the end of Dynamite:
“If nothing else the way he said that was a thing of saying that he may not be — and I think he doesn’t know. He has 22 days of radiation starting on Monday, so it may not be, you know if he’s doing 22 straight days I don’t know if he’ll be able to go, even if he’s up to it. He could be gone for a few weeks. Hopefully, everything works out.”
Ross had previously said on his podcast that he did not intend to take any time off. However, one has to assume that 22 days of radiation might cause him to change those plans.
We wish Ross well as he works towards a full recovery and fans anticipate his return to commentary soon.
