Jim Ross previously announced that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer, but hasn’t taken any time off thus far from his AEW duties.
The WWE Hall of Famer noted last week on his Grilling JR podcast that he was going to get two cancer spots cut out of his back and then on Monday, he was scheduled to meet with an oncologist so they could put on “boot” in order for the radiation machine to have a target and hit the right area to start treating it.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Ross did have the surgery and is expecting to be at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite this Wednesday.
“He had surgery on his back, and I guess it was successful, and the last I heard he was planning on going to Chicago for the Wednesday night show. So, yeah, good news. He’s not starting radiation therapy until Monday, so that’s the big one. He’s planning on going to the show this week. So far so good.”
Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite will feature CM Punk vs. QT Marshall, Bryan Danielson vs. Colt Cabana, and more.
