Jim Ross Gives Positive Health Update After Cancer Surgery, Plans to Return at AEW All In:

Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross has provided a positive update on his health following recent surgery for colon cancer, stating that he believes “the worst is behind me” and that he is planning to return to the announce desk for AEW’s All In: Texas event next month. This was Ross’s first on-camera appearance (via his YouTube channel) since his procedure, shared on the latest episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast.

“Just healing, man, just trying to heal and get better. And that’s kind of my goal right now,” Ross began. “I had a meeting with my surgeon earlier this week. He’s very happy, which makes me very happy… I believe they got all the cancer, which is great. So, you know, I’m very blessed in that regard. I was scared to death for a while, to be honest with you, because it’s just it’s that mysterious thing that you don’t know.”

Ross confirmed his goal is to be back to work for All Elite Wrestling’s first-ever U.S. stadium show at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, July 12. “Is that a little too ambitious?” host Conrad Thompson asked. “No, I don’t think it’s too ambitious. I think it’s realistic,” Ross replied.

“I’m hopeful that that’s what happens. I’d love to be a part of that event and see the fans and see the talents,” he continued. “I miss the talents a lot… My plan is to be there, so we’ll have to kind of wait and see… I want to get back in the game somehow, some way, and contribute to the success of AEW and your big event.”

During the show, Ross also expressed his gratitude for the immense support he has received from fans during his health battle. “The outpouring of support has been nothing short of extraordinary, and it really makes me feel good,” he said. “So I know that people care about me and they know that I care about them. And all the support that I’ve been given is pretty amazing.”
