Jim Ross To Miss AEW Dynamite Following A Fall

Legendary commentator Jim Ross will not be present for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Orlando, Florida. Ross announced on Monday that he suffered a fall, which has forced him to postpone his trip to the January 21 broadcast.

Ross provided details of the incident on social media, revealing the severity of the situation. “My trip to Orlando for AEW Dynamite is postponed due to an untimely fall that saw me lying on my living room floor for 5 hours. I’ll be watching!” Ross wrote. Despite the injury, he remained in good spirits and was able to watch the College Football Playoff National Championship game from his home.

In his post, Ross referenced the game where the Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Miami Hurricanes 27-21 to win the title. “Great #CFBPlayoff game tonight! Congrats to @IUHoosiers for an amazing win vs @CanesFootball,” he added.

This incident adds to the health challenges Ross has faced in recent years. Last year, he announced his cancer was “gone” and prepared to return for AEW All In in August. However, he suffered a “bad fall” just days before that event, though he still managed to perform commentary for the show.

Ross had recently returned to the broadcast booth earlier this month. He called the action for the January 7, 2026, episode of Dynamite held in his home state of Oklahoma. This week’s Dynamite will proceed at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando without him as he recovers. We wish him a speedy recovery.
