AEW has confirmed several high-profile segments for the January 7, 2026, episode of Dynamite, which will take place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The broadcast marks the promotion’s first live Wednesday night event of the new year.
Jim Ross to Return to Commentary
WWE Hall of Famer and Oklahoma native Jim Ross is scheduled to return to the commentary desk for this event. Ross, who celebrates his 74th birthday on January 3, recently transitioned to a specialized role where he provides commentary primarily for main-event matches. This appearance in Tulsa follows his recent relocation back to Oklahoma and marks his first time on the broadcast team since August 2025.
No Holds Barred Lights Out Match
A “Lights Out” tag team match has been sanctioned between the team of Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page against HOOK and Powerhouse Hobbs. In AEW, “Lights Out” matches are traditionally unsanctioned by the promotion, meaning the results do not count toward official win-loss records and the matches often feature extreme stipulations. This match was established following a challenge issued by Strickland and Page during the December 31 broadcast.
Continental Championship Eliminator
Jon Moxley will face Shelton Benjamin in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator match. Per the “Eliminator” stipulation, if Benjamin defeats the champion, he will earn a future title match for the Continental Championship. This encounter follows a physical confrontation between Moxley and the duo of Benjamin and MVP in Omaha.
