Jim Ross Reveals ‘Bad’ Hotel Fall During AEW All In Weekend That Left Him Helpless

Legendary wrestling announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has revealed that he is recovering from a “bad fall” he suffered in his hotel room during the recent AEW All In weekend in Dallas. Ross detailed the incident on the latest episode of his podcast, Grilling JR.

A “Hell of a Fall”

Ross explained that the fall happened on the Thursday night of the big event weekend. The situation was made more challenging because he had misplaced his phone and was unable to call for any assistance.

“I’m still recovering from Dallas. I had a bad fall on Thursday night in my hotel room. And I was lucky. I wasn’t down for the count, but I had a hell of a fall and soft tissue… I didn’t break anything, I don’t think, but I had a bad fall in my hotel room, and I didn’t have my phone because, as you know, I had left my phone in an Uber and I didn’t have any way of communicating with anybody. I just went to bed. And it was challenging.”

“Slow to Heal”

The veteran announcer stated that he is still feeling the effects of the fall but remains in good spirits. He noted that he is dealing with significant soreness and that his age has made the recovery process a slow one.

“I was still sore, to this very minute, I’m still sore. So it was quite the ordeal. That’s the only negative thing I could say is that I had a bad fall, and I survived it. I’m still today, I’m still sore as hell. The older you get, the slower you heal. And that’s kind of my situation right now, just slow to heal. But I’ll make it. I’ll be alright. It’s not the first time that’s happened to me.”

Despite the fall occurring just two days before the pay-per-view, Jim Ross made his return to the commentary desk at AEW All In on Saturday, July 12. He received a massive ovation from the Texas crowd and called the two main event matches of the evening.
