AEW commentator Jim ‘JR’ Ross recently commented on the start that AEW have had on the Grilling JR podcast this week. As well as talking about some of the stars that the company are building, he would have huge praise for the AEW Tag Team Championship match from the Revolution PPV.
“We’re growing and it’s a pretty good product” Ross began. “I love what we did in Chicago for the pay per view [Revolution], there was a good effort by everybody, hard work [but there] appears [to be] a lot of issues.”
JR Talks AEW Critics
Jim Ross elaborated further, saying “we still have our critics, we still have people that, you know, can’t believe that we’re featuring guys that are not giants. But you know, the audience decides who’s great, more often than not. And so our audience likes our guys, and I think that’s cool. You know, there’s always been a push back on the size of Darby Allin, not with me. I think he’s gonna be a big star. [He] reminds me of Jeff Hardy. There’s a lot of Jeff Hardy in Darby Allin and that’s a good thing. I think Sammy Guevara is gonna be special. So we’re doing good you know.”
Jim Ross on The Tag Team Title Match
JR was also quick to praise the AEW Tag Team Championship match between Hangman Page/Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. “People talk about the tag match being as good as they had seen. And I would be one of those guys. Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks killed it. That was one of the best tag team matches that I’ve ever seen. Certainly I don’t know if I’ve ever called a better executed one.”
