Johnny Gargano says his planned signing in Chicago on the same day as Forbidden Door PPV is a ridiculous coincidence

Johnny Gargano is slated to be in Chicago this Sunday, but he has tried to make it clear that it’s not for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Bryan Danielson won’t be able to wrestle at Forbidden Door for a match against Zack Sabre Jr, but is getting a suitable mystery replacement to take his place. When this was announced, many fans speculated it could be Gargano or Cesaro.

Gargano noted on Twitter that he will be doing a signing at The Chicago Card Show presented by Midwest Sports Buffet from 9-3. He said it was a coincidence and he’d only be in Chicago for eight hours.

“I promise you this is ridiculously coincidental and has been booked for months. I’ll only be in Chicago for like 8 hours! *I also realize in saying this that only like 5% of you are going to believe I’m actually telling the truth.”

Gargano is currently a free agent after his contract with WWE expired in December. He’s taken time off from wrestling to spend time with his wife, Candice LeRae, and their newborn.
