While the battle between the two shows has been widely discussed, AEW has scored the majority of victories in not only just total viewership but also the all-important 18-49 demographic.
While doing an interview with The Sun, the AEW World Heavyweight Champion first gave his thoughts on the alliance between Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, which led to him talking about the competition.
Moxley stated that the concept of the alliance is very cool to him and he thinks it’s going to work out really good.
“All my friends there (WWE) I wanna turn the TV on and I wanna see them kicking ass and doing great. We want to keep growing this thing. I don’t stress about it but it’s always good news when we get more people than last week. I don’t decide what time or what night or what channel we’re on so for me, my job is to make sure that the people that are watching have the best experience possible. I don’t really stress about the people that are not watching or the channels turned to something else – f***ing Food Network or f***ing MTV, NXT or whatever.”
Moxley continued by noting that they want to keep getting new fans and Wednesday nights are becoming wrestling night. He recalled being a kid and watching everything wrestling related so he thinks there are kids just like him watching both AEW and NXT. He thinks it’s great because he was doing the same thing during the war between Raw and Nitro.
“So what’s happening is Wednesday nights are replacing Monday night. Wednesday is wrestling night for people now.”
