AEW took another hit due to injury as Jungle Boy is sidelined with an injury.
It was previously reported the popular star was injured, but the exact injury was unknown. On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed Jungle Boy is out with a shoulder injury. There’s still no word yet on how long he’ll be out.
“It’s a shoulder injury. I don’t know 100% it’s from the ladder match, but that would make sense. I know it’s a shoulder injury.”
Jungle Boy hasn’t wrestled since the Road Rager edition of AEW Dynamite on June 15 where he worked a ladder match for the AEW World Tag TeamTitles that saw The Young Bucks win the titles for a second time
Jurassic Express’ title run came to an end after 161 days. Post-match, Christian Cage turned on Jungle Boy by attacking him and connecting with the killswitch in front of his family, who were ringside. He hit Jungle Boy with a conchairto to end the show and seemingly a way to write him off television.
This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Cage cut a promo about his actions and noted he wanted revenge for being eliminated from a Casino Battle Royal match, so he pretended to align himself with Jurassic Express. Luchasaurus came out to confront Cage, but Cage said they needed to talk and they both walked to the backstage area together.
