Karrion Kross confirms he had talks with AEW before WWE return

Karrion Kross has opened up on his talks with AEW between his runs with WWE.

AEW President Tony Khan noted during the post-ROH Supercard Of Honor media scrum that he enjoyed Kross and Scarlett’s work and was open to doing something with them in the future.

Former WWE/Impact Wrestling W. Morrissey made his AEW debut on the May 4 episode of Dynamite in a match that saw him lose to Wardlow. At the time, it was reported that Kross was the other name pitched to do the match and was even approached about being in the role.

The report stated the two sides couldn’t come to terms on the appearance and Kross decided against it as the date got closer because Kross learned his wife Scarlett would not be a part of the presentation and he was concerned that his introduction to the AEW audience would mimic that of his WWE main roster debut.

Kross and Scarlett were brought back by Triple H on the August 5th edition of WWE SmackDown. While speaking with the Mirror, Kross confirmed that he had talks with AEW before his WWE return.

“There was an idea that was proposed to me to come and do something there [at AEW]. But it was just so abundantly clear to me from dealing with fans face to face that a WWE return was what people wanted to see.”

Kross will wrestle Drew McIntyre in a steel cage match at next Saturday’s Crown Jewel event.
