AEW star Keith Lee has broken his silence on his extended absence from the company, making it clear that a potential return to the ring is not his decision. Lee has been off AEW television since late 2023.
Lee was pulled from the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023 due to an injury that he later revealed had been an issue since 2022. Responding to a fan on X who wished him well, Lee clarified his current status.
He wrote, “I am quite fine. It is not up to me when it comes to a return. But blessings to you as well.” When another fan suggested starting a campaign to push for his return, Lee elaborated by noting that he feels physically ready but is waiting for the call from management.
“I’ve been good for quite some time, though I do appreciate the concern,” Lee wrote. “But no campaign required. Things happen the way they are suppose to, and eventually, the purpose will show itself.”
It was reported earlier this year that Lee remains under contract with AEW. Lee’s last match was on the AEW Collision: Holiday Bash special in December 2023, where he defeated Brian Cage.
