During Kenny Omega’s memorable run as AEW World Heavyweight Champion, he’s been dealing with nagging injuries including an issue with his shoulder.
It was previously reported that Omega is slated to get medically checked out today at the AEW Dynamite event. In addition to his injuries, he’s also battled vertigo since 2018 to the point where the ring is spinning when he’s wrestling.
Pwinsider.com provided some further details on Omega as they were told the word making the rounds is “Omega may be out for an extended period of time from in-ring action as he’s likely looking at shoulder surgery.”
If he does get surgery, then he will be sidelined for a while depending on how long the recovery time will be. Omega was already banged up in 2019 when he joined AEW after working a grueling schedule as a top star in NJPW. This year alone, he’s also worked for AAA and Impact Wrestling.
Omega dropped the AEW World Title to Adam Page this past Saturday at Full Gear. As of this writing, AEW is not advertising Omega for tonight’s Dynamite, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be an angle done to write him off television.
