Kenny Omega Is Expected Back On AEW TV “Relatively Soon”

AEW fans should look forward to the return of Kenny Omega in the near future.

In December 2023, he was diagnosed with diverticulitis. At the time of the diagnosis, Omega had been paired with Chris Jericho on AEW television. AEW was building to a match against Ricky Starks and Big Bill at the Worlds End pay-per-view event.

The top star could’ve got a blood infection if he wasn’t diagnosed at the time he was, which would have something like a 50 percent chance of death. He spent months on the sidelines before getting the surgery.

In recent days, Omega has discussed making his return. The last time he was on TV was when he furthered The Elite’s storyline by being attacked by the faction.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Omega is talking about his comeback as if it’s a thing, rather than a possibility, so it should be relatively soon. The idea all along has been to set up a fifth match with Kazuchika Okada.”

We wish him a speedy recovery.
