Kenny Omega finds himself in an interesting spot regarding his wrestling career as he will have to decide whether he wants to stay in AEW or go to WWE.
It was believed that his deal was slated to expire in late January, but AEW extended the deal for the time that he missed while out with injuries. It’s unclear how much longer he has on the extended time.
As previously reported, WWE is interested in signing Omega once he’s free and clear to talk. The former AEW World Heavyweight Champion is said to be open-minded about going to the rival promotion.
While doing a new interview with CBC, Omega didn’t directly respond to the rumors surrounding his future.
“I think at this point anything new appeals to me and challenges also always, always appeal to me. At one point it was one of those, ‘if you say I can’t do it, I really want to do it’. Now it’s not that, I wouldn’t say I’m older and wiser it’s more like, I’m older and I care less about that it’s more about what kinds of people can I reach. What kind of positive thing can I contribute? And, what do I even feel best suited for?”
The interviewer followed up with, “So maybe, I guess is the answer?”
Omega answered, “Right. I mean, again it’s all place and time like we haven’t even reached that time yet.”
Omega did note that he wants to lean in the direction that his heart is pulling him.
“I always kind of try to find my own way, or at least try to lean in the direction of where my heart is pulling me. I haven’t had that sort of epiphany yet.”
