For wrestlers, social media can be a positive experience as they can interact with fans and promote their brand, but it can also be negative while dealing with trolls.
Kenny Omega, who has been a strong supporter of AEW’s women’s division, is interested in a certain match on tonight’s episode of Dynamite when Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa defends the title against Miyu Yamashita.
Omega recently praised the Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling star and offered some advice about dealing with negative fans by writing the following:
“Even with the few visits she’s had overseas she’s already been introduced to how ignorant and pathetic the know-it-all ‘fans’ social media can be,” Omega tweeted. “Ignore them and show everyone just how obvious the difference in skill is. The true supporters are also watching and support you.”
Omega has been critical of American fans for their reactions toward Japanese talent in AEW. He’s defended the likes of Emi Sakura, Yuka Sakazaki, former AEW Women’s World Champions Hikaru Shida and Riho, and DDT star Konosuke Takeshita.
Yamashita made her AEW debut in May on AEW Dark: Elevation by teaming with Skye Blue in a losing effort against Nyla Rose and Serena Deeb.
Some of you might say “who the hell?” but I’m not afraid because I’ve been fighting in Japan among the best team.
I’ve always strived to be One of a Kind, because only I am me.
I will win this fight MY way and become #AEW Champion https://t.co/1Itbr8AKaJ pic.twitter.com/AJ2L8Fr4YY
