Kyle Fletcher Interrupted by MVP and The Hurt Syndicate Ahead Of AEW All In: Texas

As he heads into the biggest singles match of his career at AEW All In, Kyle Fletcher is brimming with a newfound confidence. In a recent interview with Emily Mae for WrestlingNews.co, Fletcher discussed his evolution as a performer and received a surprise, high-profile endorsement from an unexpected source.

A Surprise Interruption and High Praise

During the interview (watch it below), Fletcher was interrupted by The Hurt Syndicate. But instead of a confrontation, the group’s leader, MVP, showered the young star with praise. “My nickname for him is SUPERSTAR because he is money,” MVP stated. “Keep an eye on this one right here. This is going to be a very big star because unlike a lot of these idiots around here, he gets it.”

The ringing endorsement from the veteran manager and former champion clearly caught Fletcher by surprise and serves as a major vote of confidence as he heads into his championship match.

“The Real Me”

Earlier in the interview, Fletcher explained that his recent transformation into a sharp-dressed, cocky antagonist isn’t a gimmick, but rather an extension of his true self. “It almost feels like this is the real me that’s been waiting to come out my whole life,” he said. “Now I’ve just really… become so confident now that it’s just me when I’m out there. I’m just having a blast. I’m just being a dickhead, because that’s who I am as a person.”

The Transition to a Singles Star

Fletcher’s rise as a singles competitor came about after an unfortunate injury to his long-time tag team partner, Mark Davis. He admitted the transition was stressful at first. “When you’re in a tag team, you have someone else to bounce ideas off,” he explained. “So yeah, when it’s just you and your creativity, and that’s all you have to rely on, it’s a little bit more stressful.” However, he said that trusting his own instincts is where his new confidence comes from.

Kyle Fletcher will challenge Adam Cole for the AEW TNT Championship this Saturday at the All In: Texas pay-per-view. It marks the biggest championship opportunity of his singles career to date. Click here for details on how to order AEW All In: Texas.
