AEW star and former NJPW performer Lance Archer recently appeared on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio. The Murderhawk Monster discussed a number of topics from his time in wrestling, including performing for TNA as Lance Hoyt, NXT, NJPW and his recent move to All Elite Wrestling.
During the interview, co-host Bully Ray would ask Archer if there were any stars in AEW that he is itching to face as his time with the company progresses.
“Just based on the guys that I’ve worked with in the past and thinking about those things?” Archer began. “PAC is one of those guys. He is one of those guys that, I think he brings that strong style that I like to bring myself. You have the dual dynamic of the monster, and the high-flyer. The guy that can do all these amazing cool crazy things. But, he brings that fight.”
Archer would elaborate further, saying “he (PAC) brings that fight and I love that aspect. I love bringing that fight. And then I like to be able to kind of surprise people with my athleticism as well you know? When they’re going ‘oh he’s just a big beast of a monster, Archer is hitting people and tossing them from one corner to the next.’ I also climb up to the top and do some kind of cool moonsault or somersault off the the ring apron. Something of that nature that you kind of didn’t expect to see from a guy of my size and stature.”
Lance Archer would finish by highlighting exactly why a bout between himself and PAC would be so entertaining. “It’s that combination of both of us. But I think if you just threw us both out there? We’ve been on tours together, we’ve been around each other for many many years in this business at different times. But, we’ve never actually stepped in the ring together. So just off the top of my head? That’d be a fun match, just for me personally it would have to be PAC.”
With Archer set to feud with Cody Rhodes it is unlikely that we will see this match anytime soon. But with the combination of the big Monster and the athletic PAC we could see a great bout if these two ever collide.
