Latest on AEW star’s injury status

AEW has several wrestlers on the shelf right now with injuries including CM Punk, Sting, Orange Cassidy, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson. Also on the sidelines is AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky.

Sky recently mentioned on Twitter that he had aggravated a leg injury during his TNT Title defense against Dante Martin. Sky strained a muscle in his upper leg early in the match and he could be seen grabbing his right leg multiple times throughout the match. He admitted his right knee had been bothering him going into the match.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the TNT Champion would be having an MRI soon to find out more details on the injury.

This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Sky appeared to be moving fine, a positive sign that he will not have to miss much time. AEW has not commented on Sky’s status.

On this same episode of Dynamite, Wardlow said he would be waiting for CM Punk to return to challenge for the World Title and has shifted his focus to taking the TNT Title from Sky, but will wait until Sky was fully healed.
