Latest on Cody Rhodes suffering an injury in AEW Dynamite match

It was revealed that Cody Rhodes suffered a slight tear of his left rotator cuff during his tag team match on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Cody teamed with Lee Johnson to beat Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury is legit and he also suffered damage to his left trapezoid. The match was taped a week ago as Dynamite wasn’t live this week.

The injury happened when Bononi hit him with a pump handle slam as Rhodes landed on the left shoulder and immediately winced in pain. The plan is for him to rehab the shoulder with Bryce Remsberg and Doc Sampson at the TV tapings next Wednesday and Thursday.

The good news is it’s believed that he will be able to work his next match, which is a big one, as he’ll team up with Red Velvet against Shaquille O’Neal & Jade Cargill on the March 3rd episode of Dynamite.
