Fans started talking when AEW announcer Jim Ross referred to The Young Bucks as “The Bucks of Youth” during commentary on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.
This usage of the name is a well-known thanks to Matt Hardy who used it when he feuded with the tag team in ROH.
Dave Meltzer speculated during Wrestling Observer Radio where he said the mention could have something to do with Hardy. Hardy has been rumored to be revealed as the leader of The Dark Order after he’s done with WWE.
Ross used the name when The Bucks made the save for SCU as they were being attacked by The Dark Order.
When Hardy saw the speculation from fans, he took to his official Twitter account to comment on Ross using the name.
Hardy wrote, “He did? Nothing’s sacred anymore. In all seriousness, I wouldn’t be who I am today without @JRsBBQ’s assistance. JR always has my blessing to use the term ‘Bucks Of Youth.'”
JR responded to Matt’s tweet with, “Thanks Matthew! Hope our paths cross again sooner than later.”
It’s no secret that Hardy’s contract with WWE is slated to expire on March 1st and it’s looking like he won’t re-sign with the company as he was written off of TV with Randy Orton’s attack on Monday’s episode of Raw.
