AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné is in a relationship with fellow All Elite Wrestling star, The Beast Mortos. TMZ confirmed the news directly with Moné after recent social media activity from the couple sparked speculation among fans.
The conversation began after Mortos posted a photo of the two together with the caption, “en tus brazos encuentro paz,” which translates to “In your arms I find peace.” The romantic caption led many to believe the two were an item.
When reached by TMZ Sports for comment, Moné confirmed that she and Mortos are indeed dating. She described their relationship to the outlet as “A real beauty and the beast situation,” a playful reference to their on-screen personas.
It is unclear how long the two have been together. The news comes nearly a year after Moné filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Sarath Ton, after an eight-year marriage. In a video posted in August of last year, the 33-year-old revealed that she and Ton had been separated for years but stated there were no hard feelings between them.
Moné has had a successful run since joining the company, capturing the TBS Championship. She also holds the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship and the EWA Women’s Championship and is scheduled to defend the AEW World Title at All In Texas next month. The Beast Mortos is considered one of the best workers in AEW and is seen primarily on Collision. He is also a former veterinarian and nurse and is set to become a lawyer in four months.
