Mercedes Mone Confirms She Talked With Shane McMahon At Airport

There has been much talk about Shane McMahon becoming All Elite and whether it could actually happen.

Jim Ross discussed the idea of Shane joining AEW on his Grilling JR podcast during a Q&A, causing speculation about this potentially happening. He stated that McMahon in the promotion would be so crazy that it just might work. The following week, Ross’ co-host, Conrad Thompson, said he heard from a friend who told him that it’s not as far-fetched as people think, as Shane has reached out for hypothetical interest.

This led to a report by Dave Meltzer on the AEW side that people who, in theory, should know have either heard nothing or only heard what Thompson said. One source stated the idea came about during a conversation with a former WWE star in AEW, and it wasn’t serious, which would explain why the key folks in AEW wouldn’t have heard about it.

Earlier this week, PWInsider.com reported that Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon ran into each other at the airport over the weekend. In her weekly newsletter, Mone confirmed the report.

Mone wrote, “After it all, by only the fates aligned – I walked into the airport, was in line by the bagel shop when I suddenly looked up, and there he was, just as surprised as I was. My first day being a double title holder and the first wrestler and former WWE Superstar I see is McMahon….come on, if that isn’t the universe working in divine timing, I don’t know what else it could be. I’ve always loved Shane. When we locked eyes, we both kind of looked at each other like IS THAT YOU? Our faces lit up as we got to talking a bit and before he boarded his flight, he gave me his number… the rest as they say a history or maybe a mystery!”
