Another dream match could be made with AEW and NJPW seemingly preparing to cross paths again with its second Forbidden Door pay-per-view event.
As previously reported, Spectrum Cable’s pay-per-view event listings page has the event listed for Saturday, June 24. Neither promotion has confirmed the show, but AEW President Tony Khan has stated that the two sides are looking forward to doing another co-promoted show.

When Mercedes Mone first went to NJPW, there was speculation that she could’ve been Saraya’s mystery tag team partner in a tag team match on Dynamite last month. That wasn’t the case.
Following the reveal of Forbidden Door being listed for this upcoming date, it has led to speculation that Mone could work the show as she is the current IWGP Women’s Champion.
Mone met AEW’s Kenny Omega while at Wrestle Kingdom 17. Interestingly enough, Mone thought it would be a good time while everyone is talking about the co-promoted event to plug her YouTube documentary about her NJPW journey.
She also mentioned Omega when she wrote, “So nice to meet you @KennyOmegamanX until our paths meet again.”
Omega responded with, “Our work with NJPW isn’t quite done yet, so I’m sure they will! I hear they sometimes do mix matches now too…”
While a one-on-one match between Mone and Omega isn’t likely to happen, they could do a mixed tag team match as Mone did stand tall with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada to close out the recent Battle in the Valley show. Omega and Okada had several memorable matches over the years.
