Mercedes Mone Is Close To Making History

Mercedes Mone has a chance to etch her name further into wrestling history this year. The prominent AEW star has solidified her status as a top champion, currently holding the AEW TBS Championship, the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, and the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.

She has competed in some of the most iconic venues globally, including Madison Square Garden, the Tokyo Dome, and London’s Wembley Stadium. According to a recent report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, Mercedes Mone has the opportunity to achieve a unique historical feat if she participates in the AEW Grand Slam: Mexico event with CMLL on June 18th.

Meltzer wrote, “In our listing of wrestlers who will complete the foursome of wrestling in Madison Square Garden, the Tokyo Dome and Wembley Stadium as well as Arena Mexico, Mercedes Mone is another that will be added to the list with Arena Mexico. She would become the first woman in history to wrestle in all four of those buildings.”

Looking ahead, Mone is scheduled to face Jamie Hayter in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament at the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view, further highlighting her continued prominence and high-profile matchups within AEW.
