Mercedes Mone Says She Has Mixed Emotions About ‘Extremely Violent’ AEW All Out

Mercedes Mone has given her take on AEW All Out, one of AEW’s most controversial events.

At the event, Mone successfully retained the TBS Title over Hikaru Shida. However, the last two matches made headlines.

In the co-headliner, Jon Moxley put a plastic bag over AEW World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson. This was after Danielson had retained the title over Jack Perry.

Swerve Strickland vs. Hangman Page in an Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match headlined. During the bout, they took several bumps on a cinderblock. Swerve hit a foot stomp through a table and even used an edge of burnt wood to stab Page in the head. Things got even more extreme as Page ripped the grill out of Swerve’s mouth.

While writing the latest edition of the Mone Mag, Mone talked about the violence at the show.

She wrote, “All Out was extremely violent, and honestly, Daniel Bryan’s stuff was tough to watch. I have mixed emotions. When done right, that kind of stuff can tear a roof off like Daniel’s did. However, I wouldn’t want my brother Joshua to watch stuff like that, or kids, for that matter.

She pointed out that an audience loves the extreme, and some catering to them will be done. She can’t blame the wrestlers or the promotions for doing those types of matches. Mone credits wrestlers for using that style, but she is personally at a spot where she would like to avoid extreme matches unless they add value to the company.
