Mick Foley’s First AEW Appearance Will Be This Sunday At Double Or Nothing

Mick Foley is officially heading to AEW, with Tony Khan announcing that the WWE Hall of Famer will co-host the AEW Double or Nothing Buy In show alongside Renee Paquette on Sunday.

The reveal came via Khan’s X account ahead of Wednesday’s three-hour Dynamite and Collision special. “Before #AEWDoN, watch the The Buy In FREE before the ppv THIS SUNDAY! Your new co-hosts are @ReneePaquette & Mick Foley! Foley’s coming back to TBS, where he ran wild as Cactus Jack! Don’t miss his first night in AEW on Sunday + see you for Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT!”

The booking marks Foley’s first appearance in an AEW ring or on AEW television, ending a wait that has been building publicly since The Takedown on SI reported on May 16 that AEW had expressed real interest in working with Foley. Foley has been winding down his WWE Legends deal, which expires in June 2026, with his decision driven by WWE and TKO’s continued ties to the Donald Trump administration following Trump’s comments about the death of actor Rob Reiner.

The “back to TBS, where he ran wild as Cactus Jack” framing is Khan’s nod to Foley’s run as Cactus Jack in WCW, where he was a regular on TBS programming through the early 1990s before his WWF run as Mankind, Dude Love, and the eventual Cactus Jack revival. Foley wrestled some of the most violent matches of his career as Cactus Jack on WCW Saturday Night and on WCW pay-per-views, including the famous WCW vs nWo storyline matches.

Sunday’s Double or Nothing card is set for Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, NY, an hour from where Foley grew up on Long Island. The Title vs. Hair main event between Darby Allin and MJF for the AEW World Championship anchors the show, which has sold over 13,800 tickets through WrestleTix and is on pace to become the second-biggest-grossing domestic pay-per-view in AEW history.

Foley last wrestled in 2012 and has been managing hip and knee replacement issues in the years since, declining a previously pitched MJF six-week wrestling program due to those physical limitations. The Buy In format keeps Foley in a non-wrestling broadcaster role for his AEW debut, which aligns with how he has been used in his most recent WWE engagements.

The AEW Buy In shows have historically been hosted by Renee Paquette, RJ City, and, frequently, Jeff Jarrett.
