Mike Bailey Addresses Rumors Of Backstage Heat With MVP

AEW star “Speedball” Mike Bailey has addressed the recent online rumors of legitimate backstage heat between himself and The Hurt Syndicate’s manager, MVP. In a new interview, Bailey admitted that while heated words have been exchanged, it is all part of the business of telling a story.

Mike Bailey On The Rumored MVP Heat

While speaking on 94WIP, Mike Bailey was asked directly about the rumors of backstage animosity. He acknowledged the on-screen conflict but dismissed the idea that it was a personal issue. AEW played up the rumors on Dynamite a few weeks ago with a backstage segment.

“He said he said f**k you to me. I said f**k you to him. But again, this is pro wrestling. Yeah. Right,” Bailey said. “And I think it’s very silly to go online, read that these two pro wrestlers do not like each other, and be like, “Oh man, they hate each other. This is a wrestling show.”

The Hurt Syndicate And JetSpeed Rivalry

The rumors of heat stemmed from reports that MVP had been vocal backstage about not wanting his team to lose to Bailey’s team, JetSpeed. Bailey referenced their long program over the AEW World Tag Team titles.

“Kevin and I tried to take the Hurt Syndicate’s tag team championships away from them, many times for several months leading up to All-In in front of 30,000 people, where they were able to keep their championships,” he recalled.

Bailey added by stating that his focus is on putting on the best show possible. “Yeah, like we hate each other, of course. Sure. Yeah, why not? I mean, at the end of the day, whatever makes the best show for the audience is what we’re into. And I mean, if hating each other is part of that, then let’s roll with it.“
