Mike Tyson’s boxing return postponed, new target date revealed

Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Mike Tyson step back into the boxing ring.

Last month Tyson had received an opponent for his next fight after preparing for a boxing return as he was supposed to take on fellow boxing great Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match. The fight was slated to take place on September 12th at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

However, it was recently reported by The Athletic and later confirmed by MMA Fighting that the fight has been postponed.

The targeted date to re-book the fight is November 28th. The reason for the postponement is unclear.

The pay-per-view price tag for the event was set for $49.99.

Tyson retired from the sport in 2005 after suffering a loss to Kevin McBride after not answering the bell in the seventh round. Since announcing his plans to return, he has dropped weight and looks to be in tremendous shape ahead of his return to the ring.

We’ve noted earlier on the site that Chris Jericho isn’t done with Tyson and still hopes he can get into the squared circle again with Tyson after their angle earlier this year on AEW Dynamite where they got into a brawl.
