Miro Has Requested His Release From AEW

After being on the sidelines for all of 2024, Miro wants to terminate his deal with AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Miro requested his release from All Elite Wrestling. Per the report, Miro was sidelined longer than AEW expected after Worlds End, but has been healthy for a while.

There was consideration to have him work the AEW All In Casino Gauntlet. Miro did pitch working with Jon Moxley earlier this year, but Miro and AEW could not get on the same page creatively. This was said to have become somewhat common for the two sides over recent years.

It’s unclear whether he has been granted his release or if WWE is interested in bringing him back. Miro had been making seven figures in AEW after signing a deal in September 2020 that was set to expire in Spring 2022.

Around that time, he signed a four-year extension that would keep him under contract with AEW until Spring 2026.
