MJF crashes Colt Cabana interview and asks if he wants to work for AEW, Colt talks about ROH locker room, NWA Powerrr, his health, podcast, more

Kelsi spoke with Colt Cabana at Starrcast IV during AEW Full Gear weekend in Baltimore, MD.

Things got a little awkward when MJF crashed the interview and then asked Colt if he has any interest in working for AEW.

Here are some of the other topics discussed:

  • Winning the NWA National Championship
  • NWA Powerrr
  • The rumors surrounding the ROH locker room
  • His health issues
  • The wrestling landscape

What does ROH have to do to compete with the other promotions? “We have to keep to what ROH is known for and that’s great wrestling. All the sidetrack stuff maybe has to be sidetracked and it’s just about the wrestling. I do think the Ring of Honor roster is loaded. You look at people like Rush, and Jay Lethal and Marty Scurll and Haskins and Tracy Williams, Jonathan Gresham. When you start listing them off you’re like ‘oh god that is an amazing roster.’ If you just let them go out there and wrestle, I think that’s the way to go and that’s how you win the fans back.”

On his health issues: “I had a hematoma in my quad. It just blew up to 4 times the size. It happened to me before so I knew it would go down but it’s just about waiting. So I had to cancel a bunch of dates. If you know me, I hate doing it.” He continued, “To have to not do the bookings was hurting. I knew it would go away and now I’m back at it.”

Colt noted that his “Art of Wrestling” podcast has ended but he plans on doing long-form interviews in 2020. You can check out his podcast library on his Patreon account.
