MJF vs. Chris Jericho closed out this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT. Per the stipulation, Jericho was not allowed to walk out to his theme song and he could not use the Judas Effect. The fans sang the lyrics to “Judas” as Jericho made his way to the ring.
Some notes from the match:
Late in the match, MJF ripped the brace off of Jericho’s arm and he continued to work on it but Jericho took over on offense with a lionsault and moments later with hurricanrana off the top rope. MJF was able to get back on offense by locking in the Salt of the Earth arm submission but Jericho was able to counter into the Walls of Jericho but Jericho broke free.
Moments later, MJF hit the Heatseeker into a near fall. Jericho managed to lock in a sleeper hold but MJF broke out of it with a low blow and then he locked in his own Walls of Jericho but Jericho made it to the bottom rope. With the referee distracted, Jericho used the bat and was about to hit the Judas Effect but MJF hit his own Judas Effect and then forced Jericho to tap out to the Salt of the Earth submission.
A soul-crushing loss for @IAmJericho to @The_MJF on #AEWDynamite. We will never hear the end of this. pic.twitter.com/Lh7VSr5QKL
