MJF: “If Goldberg Wants Some, I’m Right Here”

In a teaser clip for an upcoming interview on Busted Open Radio, AEW star MJF has issued a direct and aggressive challenge to WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg. When asked by host Dave LaGreca if AEW fans would want to see Goldberg in the company, MJF immediately took the opportunity to call out the legendary performer for what he called a “proper send-off.”

The topic has been a major point of discussion in the wrestling world following Goldberg’s controversial retirement sendoff at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The speculation was further fueled when journalist Ariel Helwani theorized that Goldberg’s public complaints could be a “work” designed to set up a match in AEW.

“I Will Embarrass Him. I Will Demolish Him.”

MJF, who has previously stated that Goldberg was one of his two favorite wrestlers as a child, was direct in his challenge. “Stop me right there… If Goldberg wants some, I’m right here,” MJF declared. “But I will embarrass him. I will demolish him. I will snap, crack, and pop every single tendon, ligament, and bone in his stupid, old, musty body. You know who’s next? Nobody. He’d be last. Capiche?”

He made it clear that a match of this magnitude would come at a high price for the promotion. “If he wants a proper send-off, he should be facing a generational talent. I’m right here if he’s interested,” MJF said. “But, A, I’m going to need to be paid a lot of money if you want to see that match. And B, I would imagine he doesn’t come cheap either. So a lot of stars have to align for that to happen.”

A “Huge Marquee Match”

When asked if AEW fans would genuinely want to see the match, MJF was confident in its box office appeal, while also taking a few shots at Goldberg’s well-known weaknesses as a performer. “As far as MJF versus Goldberg specifically, I mean, that’s a huge marquee match in any era,” he stated. “I think there are a lot of wrestling fans that feel that I would have fit in in that era a great deal, especially when you think of the people and mic workers of the time.”

He continued his assessment of the potential matchup, “Goldberg, a bumbling idiot, not a great talker, but an incredible, intense mega-star that I cannot take away from him. And yeah, I mean, I think that that’s a huge box office match.” He also humorously stated his belief that AEW fans would support him in any endeavor, saying, “AEW fans would like if I pulled my trunks down and took a big fat dump in the middle of the ring.”

The challenge from MJF adds another major layer to the ongoing speculation surrounding Goldberg’s future. Since his final WWE match and subsequent public complaints, many have wondered if the former WCW and WWE World Champion would consider one more match in All Elite Wrestling. The full interview with MJF is scheduled to air this Friday on Busted Open Radio on SiriusXM.
